Art residency 2025

I was blessed to have been an art residency in Stranraer during February mid term (19th-21st) and welcomed participants for three days of Nature in Spring activities, pictures below:

Day 1 : Bring on the heat! Vinyl heat pressing spring themed icons onto cotton bags or recycle your own t-shirt or hoodie

Day 2 : Creative Creatures! We will be using coloured clay, shells and decorations to create some perfect garden accessories! Creative Creatures will also be donated to Belmont Care Home to go with their new summerhouses, we hope they love will them!

Day 3 : Lets grow! You can choose a seed to plant and decorate your new plant pot to match! All seeds will come with a colouring information sheet. Keep them and watch them grow at home.

Creative Wellbeing Workshops

In Dumfries and Galloway & South Ayrshire, Bhan Wellness offers art based wellbeing workshops, these are designed to improve confidence, motor skills, problem solving and have proven to have a fantastic benefit for those with stress and anxiety.

An exhibition in Stranraer will begin on 19th December for everyone who has been attending our Introduction to Portraits Workshops, gallery photos to follow.

Every single member of our group had no experience in creating portraits before the workshops. I think we can all agree the progress and results are absolutely astounding! Of course when we can mix seasonal fun in, the wreath classes prove very popular!

New for 2025

In 2025, the art based workshops will continue and we will be moving on from Introduction to Portraits to Feathers and Fur. New and existing members are welcome to come along with all materials provided.

Art Based Workshop Creation

If you would like to add workshops to your organisation or groups schedule, these can be designed especially for you! You may wish to choose from the following list or have a combination of any detailed below. Funding for these can usually be found via your local councils wellbeing and mental health funding. If you are unsure how these workshops will benefit mental health and wellbeing for funding applications please contact Natasha who will be glad to help.
